Laura is a unique combination of the Type-A personality and creative free-spirit. Friends know her as a neat freak, fitness fanatic, coffee-lover, and if she could wear the same thing every day she totally would (who has time for such decisions?). Laura is casual, approachable, and after-hours priorities are family-time, tennis, and sitting down with a pen and paper. In fact, writing serves as a creative outlet - check out our blog! Design obsessions include unusual chairs, elegant hardware (have you seen our Finery line?), and original art that speaks to the soul.
Laura has a degree in architecture from the University of Texas and worked for years as a manager in the high-tech industry. In 2004 she left corporate life to start her own business and has since acted as contractor and interior designer for a broad range of projects, from remodels and new construction, to commercial and multifamily. LBI projects have won awards nationwide and continually earn recognition among the top firms in Austin.
Travel-obsessed foodie, lover of beautiful cheese-plates, salsa dancer, friend, aspiring minimalist, ENFP, and mountain biker. She loves to nerd out on psychology and mindfulness. Casey values authenticity, connection, growth, wellness and humor.
Since joining the LBI Team in 2012, she has won awards and competitions for rug and furniture design. Her favorite part of the design process is high level conceptualization and translating those abstract ideas into a tangible experience. She does her best work when she can really connect with the client to tell their unique story in their space.
Elissa has an Interior Design degree from Texas State University and, fun fact, is also a
licensed cosmetologist. She is a foodie, movie fanatic, animal lover, and is passionate
about sustainable design and the influence interiors can have on one’s life.
After hours, you can find Elissa on Lake Austin, exploring the city, or spending time
with family, friends, and her pup.
In telling you about ourselves we see a common theme here at LBI: when not designing, you’ll find us traveling, being physically active (for Zahra it’s spin class) and appreciating good food or coffee. In her spare time Zahra also loves a good comedy show.
After fifteen years in the corporate world, Zahra took a leap to pursue her lifelong passion for Interior Design. Leveraging her project management experience, she began working for a local Austin designer with projects in and outside of Austin and then gained experience on the construction side as a project manager for a custom home builder. Her greatest reward in this industry is the final reveal, when a client sees their wildest dreams brought to life in a space they love and want to call home.
Kelly is the newest member of the LBI team and brings with her years of experience and enthusiasm for design. Growing up in the antiques world and spending much of her time on her mother’s sewing machine, her journey into interiors began at a young age. After graduating from the University of Texas, she jumped right into design by way of fashion first. She worked for several local designers, gaining knowledge and experience with textiles and developing a real appreciation for pattern and detail. Fashion eventually turned into furnishings, and she spent many years expanding her eye and honing her project management skills through remodel projects.
Kelly loves a good thrift find, gets very excited about wallpaper, rearranges her shelves often and believes every room should have a plant. She is constantly inspired by her creative peers, good art, the 1970’s and her two beautiful daughters with whom she spends much of her spare time.
Anna manages a wide range of tasks for LBI, from order placement and tracking to technical design and fine-tuning our business processes. She is a detai-minded problem solver with a passion for design. She graduated from California State University with a BFA in Interior Architectural Design, and she enjoys the process of bringing visions to reality.
When not working on LBI projects, Anna enjoys time with family and discovering Austin. Favorite activities include checking out new eateries and concerts, and exploring the outdoors.
