Our Design Team

Laura Burton //

Principal, Allied Member ASID

Laura is a unique combination of the Type-A personality and creative free-spirit. She is a casual, coffee-loving optimist. Friends know her as a neat freak, fitness fanatic, and if she could wear the same thing every day she totally would (who has time for such decisions?). "After hours" priorities are family-time and sitting down with a pen and paper (writing serves as a creative outlet - check out our blog!). Design obsessions include unusual chairs, fun tile, and original art that speaks to the soul.

Laura has a degree in Architecture from the University of Texas and worked for years as a manager in the high-tech industry. In 2004, she left corporate life to start her own business, and has since practiced as a contractor, architect, and interior designer. LBI projects have been published locally and nationally and have consistently earned awards in ASID competitions. Laura enjoys collaborating with other industry professionals and brings a broad range of expertise to projects across the country, from remodels and new construction to commercial and multi-family.

Casey Cunningham //

Senior Designer, Marketing & Business Strategy

Designer, cyclist, dancer, friend, travel-obsessed foodie, aspiring minimalist, ENFP, outdoorsy type with an irreverent sense of humor.

Casey believes the process should be fun, not just the final result. Since joining the LBI Team in 2012, she has won awards and competitions for product design and is particularly passionate about rug design. She strives to create products and spaces that are functional, beautiful, AND meaningful.

Elissa Clary //

Junior Designer

Elissa has an Interior Design degree from Texas State University and, fun fact, is also a licensed cosmetologist. She is a foodie, movie fanatic, animal lover, and is passionate about sustainable design and the influence interiors can have on one’s life.

After hours, you can find Elissa on Lake Austin, exploring the city, or spending time with family, friends, and her pup.
