Brykerwood Remodel - Modern

The intent of this remodel was to inject some personality into a dark and drab central Austin home that had inherent charm but un-inspired interiors. Our first priority was to open things up and let some light in, so we removed the wall separating the kitchen from the dining room. This also enabled us to add a bar area where the daughters could sit and do their homework. The clients loved color and had whimsical art from favorite local artists, but the walls were pale and dingy and the furniture was old and traditional. We livened things up with some vibrant new colors and shapely modern furniture. We updated all of the finishes and appliances and gave the entire house a face-lift, but in particular created a really fun gathering space for the frequently used kitchen.
